dnata Singapore welcomes a new occupant at its maintenance base at Changi Airport.

The new service equipment replacement parts facility, which will be run by Sage Parts, will dispense ground service equipment (GSE) replacement parts, manage inventories, and provide an extensive array of GSE support services. dnata Singapore will continue to provide maintenance services for its fleet of more than 1,000 GSE equipment.

The presence of Sage Parts within the dnata maintenance bay means that the supply chain is closer to where all the maintenance action happens. Having the right replacement parts on hand is important in keeping to the cycle of preventive maintenance for each GSE, especially when the equipment is heavily utilized by dnata Singapore to serve more than 30,000 flights annually at Changi Airport.

On bringing an expert in GSE replacement parts into an established ground handling operation in Singapore, Mark Edwards, Chief Executive Officer, dnata Singapore, says “dnata’s core strength in Singapore and around the world is providing a full suite of ground handling services – from passenger, ramp and cargo handling to inflight catering – to our airline customers. It is critical to do what we are good at and partnering with Sage Parts is a smart approach for both ourselves.

Finding the right fit was critical, and this meant that we had to understand both companies and its capabilities, and how partnering up could bring about benefits. We know what type of GSE is required to get a job done and how and when we need to maintain them to ensure that they are in the optimal condition for us to deliver quality service to our airline customers. Sage Parts brings to the table a level of expertise and experience on securing the right GSE replacement parts for us to maintain and service our GSE.”

The combination of expertise from Sage Parts, the world’s leading supplier of replacement parts for ground support equipment, and dnata Singapore means that the service equipment replacement parts facility and maintenance bay is now a one stop shop solution, providing the A to Z service requirements for the maintenance of GSEs.

With the aim of bringing GSE parts and services closer to the point of use, Mark Pollack, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sage Parts, says “Our customers around the world depend on Sage Parts for high quality GSE replacement parts, available rapidly to help them run their ground support operations more efficiently and to also enhance return on investment of their GSE equipment. The opening of our new facility in Singapore and working with dnata Singapore not only expands our geographic footprint in Asia, it represents our ongoing and continually expanding global commitment to provide replacement parts via state-of-the-art facilities strategically located onsite at airports, eliminating wait time for the delivery of parts while dramatically reducing the potential for costly equipment downtime.”
