dnata Travel announces new senior management appointments

Dubai – 10 July, 2017: dnata Travel has made several key management appointments across its business in the Middle East. These movements will help further strengthen the business’ commercial footprint, drive synergies and efficiencies across the travel portfolio, and help position it in its next stage of development. 

 

Iain Andrew, dnata Travel Divisional Senior Vice-President, said: “Changing market dynamics demand an agility and fresh thinking on our part in order to step up to the challenges and opportunities in the travel industry. We have a team of highly skilled, experienced and trade-focused professionals who will help sharpen our commercial focus.”

They will not just help advance new business development opportunities, but also ensure we are fostering a mind-set for growth across our global network. We will continue to invest in the right people and leadership to ensure we remain future fit,” Iain added.

The new appointments to the dnata Travel management team are:

  • Steve Allen - SVP Corporate Travel, ME&I dnata Travel - Steve has extensive travel industry experience, most recently as CEO of Portman Travel, in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, where he led the business turnaround with the company winning several industry awards. Steve was a Board Director of Radius Travel and also Board director for the GTMC -the UK TMC’s representative body; of ABTA; and a trustee and treasurer for The Travel Foundation charity. 
  • Anirudh Rao Gauravaram - Head of Growth at dnata Travel - Anirudh is a seasoned Ecommerce expert with 15 years’ experience in driving Digital Growth, Strategic Alliances, Partner Development, Program Management and Online Operations. In his previous role as Regional Marketing Head at Souq.com, the largest Ecommerce Company in the Middle East, Anirudh drove web and mobile user acquisition, top-line growth, profitability and strategic partnerships across Middle East and North Africa.
  • Alaa Al Khatib - Head of New Ventures (ME&I), dnata Travel - Alaa has over 12 years of experience in the aviation industry, and is also an entrepreneur who has developed start-ups across multiple sectors. She has an MBA (Hons) from University of Strathclyde in Scotland, and has worked with the Emirates Group since 2005 during which time she led a number of strategic and cross-functional programmes including the Al Maktoum International - Dubai World Central (DWC) design programme to plan and design the future airport and concept of operation for the Group.
