dnata commences operations on Latin America’s first daily A380 service

Summary

Sao Paulo, 30 March 2017 – dnata, one of the world’s largest air services providers, has successfully expanded its scope of operations in Brazil to now include the largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380. With Emirates launching the iconic aircraft to Guarulhos International Airport Sao Paulo earlier this week, dnata will now handle Latin America’s only daily A380 service. dnata Brazil is expected to handle more than 300,000 pieces of baggage and 4,000 tonnes of cargo on Emirates’ flights annually.

Ricardo Morrison, Chief Executive Officer of dnata Brazil said, “This is a particularly significant win for us and we are proud to welcome Emirates and its iconic double decker into the dnata family in Brazil. It’s a testament to the investments we have made and recognition of our provision of quality service and safety, as well as our infrastructure and systems throughout Brazil.”

Emirates operates one daily flight between Dubai and Sao Paulo using the A380 aircraft. It also operates a daily service between Dubai and Rio de Janeiro with a connection to Buenos Aires using the Boeing 777 aircraft. In April, dnata will also extend its support to include the ground handling requirements for Emirates in Rio de Janeiro.

dnata Brazil handles over 15,000 flights per month across its network of 27 stations.  It has an extensive Ground Services Equipment (GSE) fleet, being the most modern in Brazil, and a workforce of over 3,000 staff.
