Air Services Provider Increases Business Interests in Australia

DUBAI, U.A.E.,16th April 2013: dnata, one of the world’s leading air services providers has today announced the acquisition of Broadlex Air Services.

Established in 2006 and employing 450 staff, Broadlex Air Services (BAS) provides aircraft cleaning services including cabin cleaning, laundry services and passenger support services at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane airports.

As an experienced provider of aircraft cabin cleaning services, BAS is familiar with the unique requirements of a variety of aircraft types, their individual specifications and working within stringent security requirements in order to ensure their customers’ aircraft are ready for their next flights swiftly and efficiently.

The deal will see dnata acquire 100% of the cleaning provider’s business.

“BAS will continue to operate as a separate business, serving a broad range of airline customers under its existing management team” said Stewart Angus, dnata’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Associated Companies. “This important investment demonstrates our continued commitment to grow the Australian aviation market,” he continued.

Current customers of BAS include Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Malaysian Airlines and Thai International.

The acquisition of BAS grows dnata’s Australian team to over 3,700 people nationally and complements its existing investments in inflight caterer Alpha, airport services joint venture Toll dnata and contact centre provider Mindpearl.
