Gary Chapman

President dnata

Gary is responsible for the global operations of dnata.

Gary has been keen a key member of the management team for over two decades. His role is comprehensive within the group overseeing a number of associated company businesses - he is Chairman of Maritime and Mercantile International LLC and dnata Singapore Pte Ltd, and a member of the board of directors for Emirates Flight Catering Co. LLC, Emirates CAE Flight Training, Premier Travel Inn Gulf LLC and dnata's overseas ground handling operations.

Prior to joining the Emirates Group in 1989, Gary spent 12 years with a prominent Arab trading concern involved in construction and the provision of support services to the oil industry. His assignment postings included the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Paris and Houston.

Gary is a qualified Associate Chartered Accountant (New Zealand.)

Ismail Ali Albanna

Executive Vice President, dnata

Ismail leads a senior executive team which is responsible for all Dubai-based cargo and airport operations and manages a combined staff of more than 8,300 employees.

Ismail joined dnata in April 1967, making him dnata's longest-serving staff member. During his career with dnata he has played a major role in the extraordinary expansion of this diverse business.

Ismail originally joined the company as a traffic clerk and rose through the ranks to become Director, Passenger and Communication in 1981 Acting Deputy Director Airport Ground Services followed in 1983, before he became Director of Airport Services in 1990 - a post he held until he moved into his current role as Executive Vice President of dnata in 2003.

Ismail's responsibilities include ensuring the provision of efficient and cost‐effective airport ground service levels, developing and maintaining organisational structures, ground equipment policies and manning standards to provide the most flexible and cost-effective ways of meeting customer requirements. He also represents dnata at IATA (International Air Transport Association) and GASA (Gulf Airport Services Association) meetings.

Recently, Ismail has been instrumental in extending the reach of dnata's marhaba services, cementing a tie up with Cox & Kings Global Services in India and launching marhaba's meet and greet services in Bahrain.

Ismail pioneers many of dnata's charitable and environmental efforts, including the Dubai Terry Fox, Dubai Cares, relief efforts through airport emergency teams for earthquakes and tsunami relief, blood donation drives and Dubai's Clean the Creek campaign.

Under his leadership, dnata has gained a raft of ISAGO and ISO quality certifications as well as numerous customer and industry awards.

Iain Andrew

dnata - Divisional Senior Vice President - Travel Services

Iain is responsible for all aspects of dnata's travel business including Gulf Ventures, dnata Holidays, dnata World Travel, MMI Travel, dnata Contact Centres, e-Commerce, Government and Corporate Travel and Regional Development.

Iain joined the Emirates Group in December 2005 and was promoted to Divisional Senior Vice President in 2007. Before joining dnata he was employed by Unipart, Thomas Cook, American Express, Air 2000 (the charter airline of First Choice Holidays) in a number of IT, finance and management roles. He also served as Chief Information Officer for TUI Airline Management, a group of six European charter airlines. More recently he was employed as the IT and Change Director for Britannia Airways, part of the TUI Group of companies, as well as CIO for the Dixons Stores Group.

He currently serves as President of the Dubai Travel and Tour Agents Group and Regional Managing Partner for HRG Middle East and West Asia. He also sits on the board of Mindpearl AG, a global contact centre provider and is an Executive Committee and Global Partner board member of HRG plc.

Iain is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and holds a degree in Business Studies from the University of Westminster and a Master of Science in Information Technology and Management from Sheffield Hallam University.

Jon Conway

dnata - Divisional Senior Vice President - Airport Operations

Jon oversees a workforce approaching 10,000 in Dubai and has recently completed the final phase of a major change programme involving a compete reorganisation of the business.

Jon has thoroughly earned the title 'industry veteran.' He began his aviation career in 1973 with B.O.A.C./British Airways Cargo before embarking on a 26-year career with Cathay Pacific Airways in 1981. Initially working in cargo operations at London Gatwick, he was appointed Airport Manager Manchester in 1989. Five years later he moved to head office in Hong Kong where he held various senior management roles, the last being Director and General Manager of Hong Kong Airport Services, a position he held for seven years. In 2008, he joined dnata in Dubai as Divisional Senior Vice-President Airport Operations.

Jean Pierre DePauw (better known in the industry as 'JD')

dnata - Divisional Senior Vice President - Cargo

Under JD's leadership, dnata's cargo business in Dubai has grown and diversified with a range of innovate products and services that puts dnata Cargo at the vanguard of the industry.

Born in Belgium, JD earned his air cargo wings with Pan Am Cargo Brussels in the early 1970s. Following subsequent stints at TAG-Al Mansour Saudi Arabia and FedEx Europe, JD joined dnata in 1991.

As well as leading dnata's Dubai cargo business, JD also serves on the Board of Directors of several companies created under his tenure. These include FreightWorks LLC, dnata-PWC Airport Logistics LLC and SDV-UAE LLC. He was also nominated to serve on several industry advisory boards.

The brainchild behind TransGuard (now a standalone division) and EQUATION (the region's first Cargo Community System), JD has also conceptualised and implemented his vision of a one-stop-shop e-commerce B2B and B2C platform for the air cargo industry known as Calogi.

In his spare time, JD can very often be found skippering his 34ft sailing boat 'Hot Toddy' along the UAE coast.

Stewart Angus

dnata - Divisional Senior Vice President of International and Associated Companies

Stewart is responsible for a varied portfolio of businesses including dnata's international airport operations outside Dubai with airport handling operations at 17 airports in seven countries.

After graduating in Economics from the University of Warwick, Stewart qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in London. In 1990, he moved to British Airways where his roles included Head of Finance for the German subsidiary airline Deutsche BA and BA's mainline operations to the Americas.

Stewart joined the Emirates Group in 1995, where he held a number of positions in finance, procurement and general management before moving over to dnata in 2004.

Aside from his role in dnata's global airport operations, Stewart is also responsible for dnata's investment in Alpha which provides in-flight catering at 63 airports in 13 countries, as well as a portfolio of other businesses including food and beverage, retail and hotels.

Stewart is married with three children. His interests include aviation history and watching any sport!

Abdulla Tawakul

dnata - Senior Vice President Corporate and Regional Network - Travel Services

Abdulla presides over an international network of dnata's travel network - owned both individually and with partners - which extends across 20 countries, including a complete footprint across the GCC.

Abdulla has more than 20 years experience in the Emirates Group and boasts an extensive management portfolio involving all aspects of airline and travel operations.

His previous positions include a succession of senior positions in Emirates Airline including Commercial Administration Manager for the Gulf, Middle East & CIS; Area Manager Iran; and Regional Manager Saudi Arabia responsible for all the Kingdom's three provinces.

In 2002 he moved back to Dubai as Manager Sales and Marketing dnata Agencies, and was later appointed to head Corporate Travel (Hogg Robinson Group-UAE). He was promoted to Vice President in 2005 and Senior Vice President in 2008.

Abdulla's extensive remit also includes responsibility for dnata's Government Travel Service, MMI Travel, Contact Centre, dnata's Offshore and Marine Service and HRG regional network.

Nick Moore

dnata - Senior Vice President Airline Services

Nick's role encompasses all below-the-wing activities for Emirates Airline, and all turnaround activities for customer airlines at Dubai International Airport.

After beginning his aviation career with British Airways in 1986, Nick held a number of customer service, marketing and operational roles at Heathrow. He was then posted overseas in Country and Regional Manager roles in the Philippines, Thailand [joint BA/ QF GM] and Hong Kong where he oversaw the BA operation in the Far East.

In 2003 Nick became Director of Customer Service and Operations for Jardine Airport Services Ltd in Hong Kong, before spending five years working as Managing Director of Jardine Air Terminal Services, the Director of Jardine Travel - and equipment servicing company GSEL. In 2008, Nick took up his present role with dnata based in Dubai.

He is a family man with two children and has been active over the years with the British Chamber of Commerce.

David Loft

dnata - Vice President, International Catering

Originally trained as a chef, an interest in airline catering inspired his move to Trust House Forte's catering unit in 1987. He hasn't looked back since.

In his role as VP, International Catering, he is responsible for developing dnata's portfolio of catering businesses, which together produced over 50 million in-flight meals in the last financial year from operations in more than 60 airports worldwide.

Moving into this exciting role provided him with a golden opportunity to utilise his diverse skills and extensive knowledge of the industry.

He is also President of the International Flight Services Association (IFSA). Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. IFSA is a global professional association created to serve the needs and interests of airline and railway personnel, in-flight and rail caterers and suppliers responsible for providing onboard services on regularly scheduled travel routes.

Kevin Ennis

dnata - Vice President Cargo Business Development - Cargo

Kevin is responsible for developing and implementing new business opportunities in terms of product expansion, new commercial ventures, managing of the freighter contracts (SGHA) and the acquiring and maintenance of tenancy and sponsorship contracts with Cargo in Dubai.

Kevin is a cargo logistics professional with 31 years’ experience in the fields of freight forwarding and cargo ground handling.

A qualified marine engineer, Kevin branched out into freight forwarding in 1981 working for Danzas's Agency network in India where he opened 11 branch offices to increase overall coverage of the Indian market.

In 1992 Kevin joined Inchcape Shipping Services in Muscat, Oman as their Freight Forwarding Manager and also helped Oman Mining, by importing copper concentrate from Chile, Indonesia and Yugoslavia to be refined in Sohar. This project ensured that over 300 jobs were retained, most of them Omani nationals.

Kevin joined dnata World Cargo in December 1994 as Freight Forwarding Manager and in 1999, became responsible for the merger of three freight forwarding entities (dnata World Cargo, Dubai Express and Kanoo Cargo Services) into Freightworks, which is now a leading player in the Dubai freight forwarding industry.

Aside from his role at dnata, Kevin also assists on the Board of dnata Cargo joint venture companies - Dubai Express - Freightworks LLC, dnata - PWC Airport Logistics LLC and SDV UAE. Kevin is also the VP on the Executive Board of the National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL – FIATA's representation in the UAE).

Vincent Dennehy

dnata - Vice President Commercial and Business Development Airport Operations

Vincent is responsible for the ground handling, contract and commercial relationship management for dnata's 140 airline customers in Dubai. He is also responsible for the management of the non-core handling revenue activities undertaken by marhaba services such as the premium meet and assist, lounges, porterage and visa services. He oversees a staff of approximately 500.

Vincent joined dnata in 2001 in the role of General Manager Sales and Service Delivery following a 27-year career with Air New Zealand. During his time at the airline, Vincent held a number of financial roles before moving into airline operations. His responsibilities included overseeing ground handling sales and procurement, airport and aeronautical charges, property and crew services procurement (accommodation etc.).

Whilst based in New Zealand, he was an active member of IATA User Charges and Airport Co-ordination Committees and, as founding President of the Board of Airline Representatives NZ, was heavy involved in the corporatisation of NZ Government-owned airports and air navigation services.

At dnata, his team undertakes ground handling contract administration, billing and relationship management.

Vincent is a Chartered Accountant (NZ) and graduated MSc in Airport Planning and Management (UK.)

Patrick Murray

Head of Calogi Worldwide Cargo Distribution Network

Patrick is currently responsible for all development, sales and implementation activities at Calogi.

Patrick has spent over 30 years in the freight industry working for British Caledonian, British Airways and Emirates in both the IT and business units.

In 2005 Patrick joined IATA and worked as part of the IATA e-freight team where he took full responsibility for the implementation and management of the Message Improvement Programme, designed to improve the data quality of data exchange between supply chain partners.

At Calogi, Patrick has been instrumental in helping the three-year-old company become an e-commerce platform for the future, revolutionising the way the global cargo industry interacts and conducts business.
