Dnata was established in 1959 as a small ground handling operation with just five employees. Since then, the organisation has steadily grown into the largest air and travel company in the Middle East, employing over 12,000 staff worldwide.
History
Since commencement, our vision has always been to become the main provider of quality air and travel services in the region. In keeping with that plan, we have gradually diversified our business interests to form over 25 separate divisions covering every aspect of travel, airport and cargo solutions. In 1993, we expanded operations overseas through a joint venture with Gerry's International in Pakistan. Now, as part of the acclaimed Emirates Group, Dnata is wholly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).
Today, with over 12,000 staff in offices across the Middle East, Australasia, Asia and Europe, we offer total solutions from ground handling and innovative cargo software to flights and luxury holidays.
Growth
After enjoying unprecedented growth over the last 50 years, we are continuing to develop and provide the most innovative products and services, further strengthening our reputation as the most successful air and travel solutions provider in the Middle East.
To facilitate this commitment to growth and innovation, we are continually seeking to update our offerings in line with the ever-changing needs of the industry. In 2008, Dnata Travel Services purchased an increased share in the Hogg Robinson Group (HRG), a leading worldwide corporate travel provider, bringing the total share value to 23.16%. In partnering with HRG UAE, Dnata Corporate Travel aims to offer its clients a total Travel Management Solution (TMS).
Taking the company's success even further, Dnata also launched Calogi in 2008, an online freighting portal designed to simplify the cargo business and offer complete end-to-end tracking and management of cargo for small to medium sized agencies and airlines.
